What is so amazing about social media?
What is so amazing about social media?
Great question.
Social media channels (in our case Facebook, Twitter) offer us easier ways to start a conversation with you.
Instead of one way information sharing, where we prepare information for you that we think you might need, you are now getting the chance to become part of a 2-way conversation by taking the 3 steps listed below. Let's talk.
How can I get involved?
Joining the conversation is easy.
Here are 4 easy steps you can take:
Step 1:
Sign up for Facebook or Twitter.
Here's a how-to video on signing up on Facebook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4IaQCKycTY.
Help on Twitter and Twitter basics can be found here: http://support.twitter.com/groups/31-twitter-basics.
Step 2:
Clicking the large buttons above will allow you to Like BC PSQC on Facebook or Follow BC PSQC on Twitter.
Step 3:
Ask health care related questions on Facebook or Twitter, or
join us by becoming a star reporter on health care events taking place all over Canada. You can read more on this in the section below: "How do I become a Star Reporter for the BC PSQC?".
Step 4:
Because we'd like you to be successful in reaching a wide group of people in Canada, we have prepared a list of tags for you.
You can use these as topic keywords that allow you to better describe your messages.
Using these tags will make it easier for others to find your message and join or listen to the conversation.

How do I become a Star Reporter?
We are looking for people to be our ears and eyes all over BC and the rest of Canada.
Because there are only 140 characters available per tweet, our star reporters people never hesitate to be brief and to the point when it matters the most.
If you think you have what it takes to become our star reporter, we'd love to hear from you.
Send a tweet to @bcpsqc answering the following question:
Why and how will you be making a difference as part of our star reporters team?

This link will point you to our hash tag list: http://ow.ly/5TEOe.
This work in progress is derived from several sources all over the internet and is continuously being updated.
If you'd like to add a tag to the list, feel free to tweet us at @bcpsqc or send an email to: tweets@bcpsqc.ca. Along with the tag, please include a short description.
