Working Groups | Patient and Public Engagement

The Patient & Public Engagement Working Group is focused on supporting both the Council and health care partners to make meaningful steps towards working with patients and families as partners in their care. Initial efforts of the group are directed towards improving communication between patients and their health care team. The recently launched It’s Good to Ask program as a first step to meet this goal and focuses on providing resources to those who have low health literacy. Tools and materials developed as part of this program, along with supporting educational and outreach strategies, aim to support patients in becoming active participants in their health care and to better understand their health conditions.
