Our Challenge
There are approximately 90,000 British Columbians diagnosed with heart failure. Tragically, it is a major cause of morbidity and mortality, and costs the health care system more than $500 million annually.
Heart failure is a condition that usually happens over a period of time, and causes the heart muscle to weaken, and not pump well. This results in poor blood circulation to tissues and organs.
Symptoms include:
- shortness of breath
- swelling of hands and lower legs
- irregular heart beat
Our Clinical Care Management team is here to support you, as you work to improve the management of heart failure. Get started with the resources provided, or contact us today.
