Third Annual BC Quality Awards

Evaluation
Each nomination is evaluated according to a 100-point scoring framework that assesses distinct dimensions of the quality for the initiative, based upon the BC Health Quality Matrix. The judging committee considers both the process by which an initiative is undertaken as well as its outcomes.
Award submissions are evaluated by a panel of quality and safety leaders, past award winners, public representatives and members of the BCPSQC.

Excellence in Quality: Staying Healthy– Preventing injuries, illness and disabilities
Excellence in Quality: Getting Better– Care for acute illness or injury
Excellence in Quality: Living with Illness – Care and support for chronic illness and/or injury
Excellence in Quality: Coping with End of Life – Planning, care and support for life-limiting illness and bereavement
Excellence in Quality: Theme Award - Across the Province- Spreading change for improvement on a larger scale, across the province
Leadership in Quality - Significant leadership demonstrated in an area of health care quality improvement and patient safety.
